First place in the third edition of Ideas: Future Leaders of Pokhara, a city-level entrepreneurship and innovation pitch competition — a week-long bootcamp for 40 selected participants, then a finale pitch before a jury on 20 May 2026.
Ideas: Future Leaders of Pokhara is an entrepreneurship programme run by the Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs' Forum (NYEF) Pokhara chapter together with the Business Promotion Center of Pokhara Metropolitan City. It identifies and trains young people from the region who want to build businesses. The 2026 edition was the third.
How it ran
- Bootcamp, 13–18 May 2026. Forty participants selected from the applicants took a week of training on business modelling, startup strategy, practical use of technology, and mentorship from established entrepreneurs.
- Finale, 20 May 2026. At Pokhara Event Center, each finalist pitched a business idea to a jury of startup mentors, business leaders, and metropolitan officials.
- Result. Rabin's pitch took first place, with a cash award of NPR 100,000.
The idea
Rabin pitched Himexa, an AI project he is currently building. Details will be published at himexa.co as the product takes shape.
Why it matters to the work
The award recognises the same thing the channels and the trainings are built on: solving everyday local problems with practical technology, plain-language digital education, and a business that can sustain itself from Pokhara.
In Rabin's words
"Winning Ideas: Future Leaders of Pokhara is not just a personal achievement; it is a commitment to the youth of Nepal. It reinforces my belief that with the right combination of digital literacy, AI awareness, and an entrepreneurial mindset, we can build scalable, high-impact solutions right here from Pokhara."
